Recovery.

The graduation party was fabulous. Pictures forthcoming. It's always difficult to make 30 people at a party for you feel like you appreciate their presence, but I think Slav and I juggled the crowd well. I think Slav was pleasantly surprised by the mighty terrapin I had the cake people include on the cake. See upper left hand corner. He keeps telling me that I can't be a Terp because I won't be a grad student at UMD. I'll show him. haha.
One of the best parts of the post-graduation party period was waking up yesterday at 11am to find out that my dad was sleeping :D We're talking about a father who got up at 6:30am for years to get his kids to school, and he usually can't sleep past 9. Turns out he had gotten up early to drop Slav off at a UMD orientation and drop our massive rented van. Pictures of that monster also forthcoming.
Today I am up at 9. Weird! I don't really know what happened haha. Lots to do: thank you letters, cleaning my room, drug test for my summer job... score.
Also, I finished The Name of the Rose! This is big news. I've been working on this book for about 1.5 years. When I picked it up, I read moderately for a couple months, then dropped it for about a year, and just picked it up again recently. The book is set at an abbey full of monks whose names I had forgotten, so I feel like I should re-read the book, but I highly doubt that will happen.
Also awesome: I now have M.I.A.'s whole album, Arular, to listen to. Paul, one of the RiDONK crew, choreographed his portion of the dance to "Sunshowers." Ever since, I've been wanting to listen to the whole album, and now I have all the time in the world to do just that. Excellent.
