May 14, 2004My official petition statement to drop 18.354 late.-- This semester I was diagnosed with tonsillitis twice. The first time I was bedridden for two weeks, and the second time I was an inpatient at MIT Medical Center for several days. Both times I was on antibiotics for at least ten days, and the second time I was also diagnosed with strep and anemia. I was unable to drop the class before Drop Date because I was bedridden while Drop Date passed. I was unable to petition earlier because I became sick again. While I was sick, I slept through most of the day and night, had a fever, took large doses of painkillers including percocet, was frequently nauseous, had difficulty swallowing and retaining food, and, while at MIT Medical Center, received intravenous fluids. I was also more fatigued during this semester and slept more than in other semesters. My medical ailments made me feel awful physically, made it hard to concentrate on my work, and prevented me from completing work for this class in a satisfactory and timely manner. -- Is it gory enough? -May's in town :D -I'm going home Saturday :D -It is nearly summer summer time :D |
